Facebook Poll Series to Determine
Top Business Stories, Leaders and Products from the Past 10 Years
Fairfax, VA - January 11, 2012 - The Stevie Awards, organizer of the world’s premier business awards programs, has announced a monthly poll series, to be published on its Facebook page (www.facebook.com/TheStevieAwards), determining events, people, organizations and products that have had the most meaning for the most number of people over the past 10 years.
2012 marks the 10th anniversary of the Stevie Awards, the governing body of several business awards programs including the American Business AwardsSM (www.stevieawards.com/aba) and International Business Awards (www.stevieawards.com/iba), which are widely
recognized as the premier business awards programs honoring organizations and individuals in a variety of categories.
“We are very excited to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Stevie Awards movement by reflecting on the most influential innovations, companies, people and products of the past 10 years,” said Michael Gallagher, president of the Stevie Awards. “Our polls not only recognize these important business milestones, but give people worldwide the opportunity to vote for the trend-setters and influencers who’ve had the biggest impact on their lives.”
The poll series kicked off this week highlighting the Top Business Story of the Last 10 Years, with choices including:
- Apple’s introduction of the iPhone sparks a revolution in mobile computing;
- Wall Street’s troubles trigger the “Great Recession;”
- Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter stoke the growth of social media and social networking;
- Europe’s sovereign debt crisis heralds an era of austerity across the continent; and
- The rise of BRIC economies (Brazil, Russia, India and China) changes the balance of power in international trade.
Voting for the Top Business Story of the Last 10 Years ends on January 26 and the next poll will be available on February 6.
