ProfNets of the Week
by admin ~ September 11, 2009
It’s time again to take a look at some of the strange and interesting queries from ProfNet, a service that sends us journalist queries and calls for sources dozens of times throughout the day. Enjoy!
HEALTH/TODAY: Dangers of Too-Tight Jeans — Health Magazine
I am looking for a doctor or medical professional who can talk with me about the dangers of wearing too-tight jeans, specifically for women. Because my deadline is quickly approaching, I will need to speak (either on the phone or through e-mail) soon. Please note: Due to the number of responses, I am not able to reply to everyone. Thank you for understanding. Contact: XXXXXXXX
TRAVEL: Business Travel — Forbes Media
I’d like to speak to a female executive, preferably in the beauty/fashion/media industry, who travels extensively — and considers herself an expert at packing light — *or* has a horror story of lost luggage, etc. I want to hear tricks of saving space, such as double-duty dressing and mix-and-match wardrobes. The story is for a fashionable business woman who wants to pack light and travel hassle-free. Please do not send product pitches unless they are particularly fabulous for travel — and are chic. FOOD: Bacon Products — AOL.com’s Food Channel
I’m working on a story for AOL.com’s Food Channel about bacon; specifically, any and every crazy bacon-related product for sale online right now: bacon jams, bacon-infused vodka, bacon chocolate — you get the idea; the crazier and more fun, the better. I’m looking to hear about any product that uses bacon as an ingredient; I am *not* looking for straight bacon rashers, however artisanal the curing or pig-raising might be. The strongest caveat is that any item we feature must be edible — so the bacon-printed packing tape or bacon cologne won’t, sadly, fit. Please mark the subject line of all replies: “Bacon.” I’m a freelancer. Contact:XXXXXXXX
