June 22, 2009 - PR professionals in the U.S. earn an average of $68.21 per hour compared to $43.22 for men with 20 years’ experience in the U.K. Women with the same tenor who work in PR in the U.K. earn only $30.67, according to a study by WageIndicator, which studies wages, working conditions, labor standards or other work-related topics in 45 countries.”

As expected…women get paid less than men, although in Germany where the average gender gap is twenty percent, the difference between male and female PR managers is much smaller,” WageIndicator wrote.

In general, the study found that those with 20 years in the business are compensated for their experience everywhere except in the Netherlands, where younger male and female PR pros are paid slightly more than colleagues who are longer in the tooth.
