Remembering the Inauguration
by jill ~ February 6, 2009
It has been two weeks and three days since the inauguration of President Barack Obama. It’s hard to keep track, since the time of that jubilance and shining optimism has been replaced by secretary nominations (and regrets), tax scandals, unemployement figures, missteps and some lost magic. But I wanted to end this week with a bit of that inspiration we all felt on January 20, because I’m hopelessly optimistic (still).
This, from a new illustrated column in the New York Times is a “Hallelujah” by Maira Kalman. This made me very happy to see and read and I hope it does the same for you. Happy Friday!
