1 Year Upgrade Doesn’t Cut it

Flash back to a week ago: Headlines across the country and especially NYC were ablaze with news of the US airways flight 1549 that miraculously landed in the Hudson River. Henry Sullenberger became affectionately known as “Sully”, he was invited to the inauguration and praised with the title of hero. On the evening news, that day, we saw a little baby being carried out, fiancés hugging and kissing, and the shock and frost felt by the 150 people that made it out alive.
Today, The New York Post reports that US Airways in a bid to reconcile customers is offering First Class service to everyone that was aboard the flight. Many are upset by the meager offer but, in my opinion, those people who are over their Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome should take the offer and then seek monetary reconciliation.
As a side note, maybe the airline should reconsider their attempts at correcting the incident and how these meager incentives not to sue have an impact on their public relations in a time when business is at its toughest.
