Google’s Zeitgeist

by jill ~ September 24, 2008

The only reason I know that zeitgeist means “spirit of the times” off the top of my head is because it was one of the many bad choices I came up with for naming this very PR firm.  I obviously decided against Zeitgeist PR because I thought it would scare people away, but I do love Google’s Zeitgeist.

Google’s Zeitgeist shows all of the top searches from around the net updated every hour (or so).  This is an interesting look at what is happening in our society at any given moment - a snapshot of the collective consciousness.  Check out the Zeitgeist here.

Here are some of the top searches right now:

Detroit Free Press: Matt Millen out as Lions CEO

International Herald Tribune: Young Firm Turns Shipping Container into Homes

Search Engine Journal: Google Launches Project 10 to 100th

Los Angeles Times: It’s Punctuation Day.  Do you know where your comma is?

Associated Press: Former Giants Player, radio voice Dick Lynch dies
