Last night, the cast of “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Undead” gathered at the fabulous Plaza Lobby Bar in the newly renovated Plaza Hotel in New York to celebrate the film’s completion.
Jake Hoffman (Arrested Development), Devon Aoki (Sin City), John Ventimiglia (The Sopranos), Danny Masterson (That 70’s Show) attended, along with about 100 guests. Club promoter Danny A. hosted the party, which featured DJ Equal spinning for the intimate crowd who partied there until the wee hours to celebrate the completion of the film’s production.

Also, the film’s writer and director, Jordan Galland, was featured in this article in today’s New York Sun regarding the Red One, the revolutionary new camera that will change independent filmmaking. According to the piece:
Jordan Galland is one of the many independent directors who have jumped at the chance to use a Red camera for their debut features. Mr. Galland hopes to enter his picture, a vampire comedy tentatively called “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Undead,” in this year’s Toronto Film Festival. During preproduction, he realized that if he were to use a standard HD video camera, he would have to find a way around focusing on the color red.
“We wanted to have large strips of red in the costumes, but with digital cameras, colors become so reduced,” he said. “If you play it back, reds end up looking more like strawberries. But with the Red camera, you have a more delicate and dynamic color palette, not to mention an easier time with lighting. We did an original test with the camera, and my [director of photography] filmed a candle burning on a rooftop at night, and it was just remarkable.”
