“I see live consumers…”

by jill ~ June 2, 2008

In the spirit of M. Night Shyamalan, who has a story today in the New York Times about his marketing choices for past films tagged to new film “The Happening” which is being marketed as his first R-rated film - which I take to mean it’s actually going to be scary and graphic instead of just creepy and weird and I am really looking forward to seeing it - there’s some other sneaky advertising news today in the roundup:

- NY Times reports on billboards that can actually track what kinds of people are walking by - the traffic, the demographic, etc.

- WSJ reports that some retail marketers are changing up product designs so that consumers will display the containers while they are not using them.

- Brandweek reports that in the tough economic times, retailers are banding together for dear life - Walmarts are turning into min-malls featuring all sorts of other stores inside.
