Perhaps it is because I have my own small business, but I think the “Small Business Link” section in The Wall Street Journal is great.  Their topic of the month is Employee Ownership and today’s two lead stories (both by Simona Covel) are very interesting:

As a business owner, feelings you have about work and what work means changes fundamentally.  Working for yourself is empowering - it encourages ambition and creativity and a dedication to business that’s just not there on a consistent basis when you’re working for the man.  It’s just not.  So, giving employees a way to feel connected and giving them ownership would be better for everyone involved: the health of the business, the employee and the client.
